2009 Hasty Pudding Man and Woman of the Year
Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the nation's oldest undergraduate dramatic organization, presented it's 2009 Hasty Pudding Man and Woman of the Year Awards this past week.
Since 1951, the Hasty Pudding Theatricals - Harvard Club of Boston have presented the traditional brass pudding pot at a roast sponsored by Hasty Pudding Theatricals.
Their Man and Woman of the Year Awards are presented annually to performers who
have made a “lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment”.
The Harvard group honored Renee Zellweger last week as its "Woman of the Year".
Earlier in the day, Zellweger rode in a silver Bentley convertible in the traditional
parade through Harvard Square, flanked by two male Harvard students dressed
in drag. The roast followed in the evening comedy skits.
The Harvard group honored James Franco as its "Man of the Year". James Franco got a spoof bar mitzvah and was forced to milk a "gay" cow on Friday to earn his pudding pot
as Harvard's Hasty Pudding Man of the Year. Franco co-stars in the film "Milk"
